Rancho’s hidden charm! My wife and I had dinner here on Monday this week. We had heard about this restaurant but had not tried it yet. It was awesome! I had the lecheon asada and it was magnificent. My wife had the garlic chicken. We had on the side a order of yucca. Everything was delicious including the black beans and rice and plaintains. We are from Florida and have been to quite a few Cuban restaurants and I can say Flamingo Palms is excellent. The price is very reasonable and the portions are very generous. We left with enough for a complete repeat dinner. If there was anything I would say negative is they only have wine and beer and the mojito I had was undrinkable. My wife did enjoy her glass of wine.I’m updating my previous review. Went there again this Sunday. They have a brunch going on until 3pm. We got there at 2:30. Very hot inside restaurant. Quite uncomfortable. The food was well below par as we ordered off menu. They were out of bread. Plantains were too green for the sweet ones. The whole meal was a sham. The beer and the wine were not cold. Will definitely not go there on a Sunday again.
This is a delicious authentic Cuban restaurant, the flavor is great and the dish presentation too!! I will come back as much as I can! Love it!!
First visit. Outstanding mojo pollo and saffron rice dish. The iced coffee is just as strong as advertised. We’ll be back to try the rest of the menu ASAP
What a culinary treat to find, in the 909.Great Atmosphere, food and service. If you need a break from the IE food grind take a vacation to Flamingo Palms!
Previous reviews of Flamingo Palms are from when it was in a different location that I never visited. The current location is near the Ontario Mills Mall and is in a very nice setting. Good sandwiches and worth visiting.
Fantastic food! Miss eating Puerto Rican comida. I always come here when I’m in California. Highly recommend this restaurant
Great Start for New Cuban Restaurant. I grew up in Florida and know Cuban food, so finding a restaurant in the area is always exciting. While it is a modest location and hard to find, my friend and I were greeted and seated immediately on a Saturday night. The selection of cuban beverages was nice to see. We enjoyed a couple of Iron Beers (cuban cola) and ordered the yuca frita as an appetizer along with the lechon asado and the arroz con pollo. I loved the lechon and the arroz con pollo was very tasty. The portions were large and all dishes besides the arroz con pollo came with black bean, rice, and fried sweet plantains. It was a great meal! Since I don’t get out that way all the time, I also ordered a ropa vieja to go for tomorrow. Granted, the mojo wasn’t like the stuff I got at home, I prefer a little more citrus flavor, it was still a great flavor for the yuca frita. Hopefully next time I will have the bistec empanizado and some room for a guava and cheese pastelito. Overall, I would recommend you try this place for some good cuban cooking.
