Food was very good and with tasty flavors one expects with Thai food. Service was prompt and friendly. We arrived late and so Kao Sarn was empty except for another couple. Talk from other couple loud overcoming pleasant chillout music. Would dine there again.
Tasteless food and bad service. Because i am thai (born and raised), i have high standards when it comes to authenticity. the menu is very westernized, like most thai restuarants in the US. but this place is awful. the food was tasteless, over cooked (grilled prawns tasted like rubber), and greasy. the mushroom in our soup looked like they were weeks old. the service was worse than the food. the waiter stuff soup spoons in my hands, so that i would pass them around the table. i asked for the sauce tray (because the food was tasteless), the waitress tried to take it away before i could even get any sauce from it. i protested, so she did leave me with the jar of nam phla prik (fish sauce with chillis). then she brought out a take-out container and proceeded to pack it for someone else’s take-out order at our table, and said that i wasn’t the only one who needed this sauce. hello, it’s fish sauce with chillis, she could have gotten that from the kitchen! i will be sticking to Lao-Thai Kitchen in Albany, where the food is great and the waitresses are extremely nice.
