Surprisingly Good. I admit I didn’t have high hopes for Jalisco. After all, it’s a local chain Mexican restaurant (3 locations I’m aware of), and the interior and ambience is nothing to write home about. A cramped space, with little more than hard chairs and small tables (if you’re lucky you’ll find a small booth). But getting past that, I have to say I was blown away by the food served. As far as the Sacramento area goes, you’re not going to find better Mexican food than what’s served at Jalisco Fresh Grill. The menu is stocked with all the mexican classics, even serving the ever elusive seite mares (a soup with seven types of seafood in it, delicious with a twist of lime). My current favorite is the steak ranchero, but I’d recommend anything I’ve had (with the slight exception of the nachos, which I found too greasy for my taste). Finally, the salsa bar, while small, is surprisingly good and includes two favorites of mine that can be difficult to find: pickied jalepenos and carrots along with marinated onions, both of which are delicious on their own or added to a variety of dishes. Finally, if you like them, you can find horchata on the tap, that is perfectly balanced. Not too thick or sweet, nor too thin or watery; like everything else I’ve found here it stays true to tradition and taste.
Tuesdays are the best. My boyfriend and I will only go on Tuesdays when the carnitas and carne asada are on special. They are both delicious. The carne asada comes with chargrilled jalapeno and spring onions mmmm. The real treat though is the condiment bar. The marinated onions are like crack for me! I can’t get enough!
This restaurant has better burritos than carolinas or aldeberto’s and I thought they had the best burritos.
By far the best tasting fajitas! You will never find,better..always clean with great service.
The food was awesome, fresh and came to our table before we got our chips and salsas from the salsa bar. Only complaint: the guacamole was more of a pure than a chunky guac (which I prefer) We will definitely be back!
