Shouldn’t a grilled panini be grilled?. Fat Cat Cafe is a brand new restaurant that opened in the old UE Kara Grill location downtown on C Street. Being a new restaurant, a co-worker and I decided to try it for lunch, since it’s a block away from our office. We both ordered the French Dip Grilled Panini. My co-worker asked for a cup of water, at which point the guy taking our order glanced at the sink, which has a thawing frozen chicken/turkey, and then proceeded to say they didn’t serve tap water. On the upside, my friend made enough of a fuss that the guy handed him a bottled water for free. When the sandwiches arrived, they looked sad. Two pieces of dry processed white bread with a thin layer of beef and an even thinner layer of provolone cheese. The sandwich was not grilled at all. The au jus was incredibly salty and tasted like it had come from a packet. All an all, it may have been the worst sandwich I may have ever eaten. As we left, a heard another party comment how their sandwiches were possibly the worse sandwiches they have ever had. Im pretty sure Im not returning.
