We were in Little Italy for dinner and walked by here while walking around the area. There were 15-20 gelato selections. The pistachio & amaretto gelato’s were both delicious. The slice of peanut butter cheesecake was the best I’ve ever had. Prices were reasonable.
Hate be critical of a place, but this meal was awful. I was alone and sat at the bar. Wait staff was friendly. Complimentary bread was hard as a rock with cold marina, (I didnt realize Italian joints still did this…. Im a big fan of olive oil/balsamic or chili oil mixed to dip my bread in but I digress). I ended up getting the Caesar salad as a starter, but they grilled which I hate it and it was wilted as shit. Overdressed and way too many Costco brand croutons. At the servers suggestion, ordered bolognese lasagna. Plate was kind of a mess. Tons of cheese and a thick bechamel on top, (bechamel belongs on Greek moussaka, not in Italian lasagna imho) that I had to bury through to find any over cooked pasta or bolognese. When I did find it I was a little disappointed. Greasy and bland. Other patrons seemed to be enjoying their meals though and neat decor inside. Take my opinion with a grain of salt. Im just disappointed I didnt enjoy the food…. Little Italy is pretty competitive and this was not up to snuff.
