This place had a great selection of cheese, but the reason why I went, even though you can get some of the same types in upscale grocery stores, is because I love to discover and learn about cheese; their history, nuances in their environment, and process etc. You can’t typically sample a large variety of cheeses or talk to the staff at a grocery store because they are too busy, so being able to do that in a leisurely way is priceless. copulacoffee.com

It’s a reason to be hopeful about the culinary future of San Diego despite the city’s unimpressive track record. Although you can find a subset of Venissimo’s selection at a Whole Foods store you are better off at Venissimo and will be in the hands of people who truly care about cheese.On the side, they serve cheese sandwiches paired with a side of fruit and you can order wine as well if you want the full experience. Good cheese makes for a good sandwich. But being a side business, the sandwich preparation can be slow; show up when you are not in a hurry.
