Lolinda is a tapas style Argentinian-steakhouse located in the always hip Mission. If that doesn’t pique your interest already, then head to the rooftop bar, one of the few in the city with a good view, for some early cocktails and conversation, before making your way downstairs to the spot. One of my favorite things about a tapas-style joint, is that it lets me try almost everything on the menu. I get to sample all the different directions the chef wants us to explore in his culinary map, without having to make multiple trips to the restaurant (I would still make multiple trips to my favorite places and just look for new specials or changes in the menu). It’s a great way to eat a lot without feeling like you’ve eaten a lot.And that last bit is important here at Lolinda, because even though it is a steakhouse, never did I feel that the meal was overbearing or heavy, and I could keep navigating through the menu and courses. The ceviches are a great start to tickle your taste buds and warm up your palate for the evening. We followed it with the crispy empanadas and the slightly softer pork belly. Great use of protein in two varied dishes, but packed with flavors all around. From the grill, we tried the chicken, the chorizo, rib-eye and the white shrimp. Each dish had cooked the meat to perfection, not the slightest bit overdone. There was no sameness to any dish, every bit of garnish and marinade was different, and we lost track of the many flavors we were introduced to that night. Even the baby potatoes on the side of the shrimp were just perfect and not mushy or bland.I wish I could remember more specifics about each dish, but after the rooftop bar, followed by the bar counter downstairs (we had a bit of wait even after our reservation time) and then more drinks at the table, my recollection of the meal is a bit hazy, other than that it was fantastic and I would definitely go back, and recommend others to do so as well.

One of the best meals of my life!. My bf and I ate here the other night after waiting 1.5 hours. It’s worth the wait! Every single thing we had is delicious. Highly recommend the fish ceviche, skirt steak, steak tartare, and churros! Definitely make a reservation in advance. Would recommend to anyone and everyone. Good and reasonable cocktails too!

We went here with a group mid week. I can say only good things about the apps and the mains. Service was a little sluggish, but the rooftop bar is the place to grab dessert (and a drink).

Excellent food, great atmosphere. Service slow but since we were not in a hurry it was ok. We had 5:30 reservations. Got seated at 5;45. Didn’t finish til 7;15 .
