My new go-to Vietnamese in San Francisco. In a much better neighbourhood that previous favourite Miss Saigon. Liked the caramelized clay pot catfish and the rice paper rolls. Want to try a lot more on the menu.
Was surprised how crowded this place was on a Tue night. Wanted something light, so chose Vegetable Pho. Quantity was larger than my appetite but the taste was quite good.
Great dinner at a small, casual, unassuming restaurant. The Vietnamese waiter suggested the caramelized clay pot catfish (a signature dish). I’m not fond of catfish but I decided to go with it anyway. It was great! Small delicate chunks of catfish were caramelized with onion slices in a stoneware bowl. The little bit of sauce was delicious mixed with the brown rice. The limeade drink was pretty tasty too. The pho ga was simple in appearance but when the fresh basil, onions, peppers, and bean sprouts were mixed into the ginger broth-the taste was anything but simple! Yum! Attentive service. I’d go again.
