Must visit Vietnamese resto in San Gabriel. Super crowded but worth it. The beef pho and spring rolls are delicious. Try the banh mi as well. Price is reasonable and service is good.
I thought it was good, but it wasn’t amazing by any means. I’ve had just as good pho at many other restaurants in the 626. The line is usually pretty long too.
Perfect cha gio. Jonathan Gold has led me astray plenty of times, but he redeemed himself and then some with this gem.The cha gio are perfect. The rice paper skins are transformed just the right level of crispy-chewy-oily goodness. Just magic. And the herb platter is almost always loaded down with beautifully fresh veg and herbs…including kinh gioi, which I absolutely love. One of my all-time favorite dishes.
Best Vietnamese. With all the selection in town, this is still my favorite Vietnamese restaurant. The Pho is consistently the best!
Excellent pho. EXCELLENT, I tell you!!!And there’s on average a 45 minute wait usually for it, so you’d be wise to arrive before you’re already starving. Occasionally you show up in between spurts, but if you do end up waiting, you won’t be able to help pressing your face against the glass to see if anyone is close to leaving — I do warn against this. Walk around the block because the obvious enjoyment on everyone’s faces inside will drive you to sheer pho madness. The fried rolls are a favorite of my family, and the spring rolls are excellent as well. Lots of fresh basil, mint, cilantro, cucumbers, jalapeno and lime for the rolls as well as the pho. The service is inconsequential, as with most Vietnamese pho joints. It’s a family restaurant, so they’re not going to tuck your napkin for you and wait by your elbow. There are many servers bustling about, so if you need something, you just grab one of them and ask. Besides, once the steaming bowl of soup is in front of you (which, after the wait, only takes a couple minutes), you can’t hear or see anything except the noodles, fresh veggies and beef….until you’ve slurped them down and they’re gone. The staff are, however, nice enough to kick the rude people out of their seats when they lag unnecessarily despite the long line of hungry people outside, faces pressed against the window, hoping for their pho fix.
Great Vietnamese Food. This is a very popular restaurant in the San Gabriel Valley. There is usually a line when you get there, so that must tell you something about the place right? If you are in the area go and try it. Their egg rolls are good and so is there soup dishes.
Rude Service!!. If you want to know if this asian cusine is good, you need to ask an asian. Rating: So-so. If you are still sitting around after your meal, you will be kicked out!! Yes, you heard right. I’ve never been asked to leave because we are done with our meal and no business hanging around when there are other people waiting. Unbeleivable!
