Vietnamese Catfish Quest. Vietnamese Baked Catfish is Phong Dinh’s signature dish. Since I have started my Vietnamese Baked / Grilled Catfish quest, Phong Dinh became my 3rd try. All I want to say now I was so disappointed!!!The Catfish came less than 10 minutes after we ordered. What did it mean? It was pre-made, and the catfish was not hot enough. The presentation was nice with lots of garnish. The catfish was not very fresh and the meat was not firm enough; so they used plenty garlic paste to cover it. Beside rice paper-wraps, lettuce, basil and mint leaves; the fish sauce with some plum was good and it’s diiferent than we used to get from other Vietnamese restaurants. Even all of the above still did not make the catfish taste better.Eggrolls were filled with taro, it’s a thumb-up. Squab was tasty and flavorful. Beef Fondue in Vinegar was another loser, basically we got unmarinated tough beef boiled in water.Go there if you are like me has a mission to try all catfish dishes available, good or bad!!!
