Decent banh mi’s!. Not too bad considering it was a spur of the moment banh mi purchase. =)i decided to give this place a whirl after exiting my optometrist appt……plus the fact that i needed to get something in my belly prior to meeting up with the guys for a round of golf. luckily, saigon sandwiches & bakery is next door to my optometrist so i popped in and was actually pleasantly surprised by the banh mi’s. i expected a mediocre meal but the meatball sandwich i got for a measly $2.00 was quite tasty and the baguette was very fresh. as a matter of fact, the baguette was still warm. mmm!! the meatball was crumbly and very flavorful. the shredded pickled daikon (i think) and carrots offset the meat nicely with a sweet flavor and the fresh cilantro added a soothing kick to the banh mi.i actually bought three banh mi’s and gave the other two to my friend’s at the golf course. my buddies devoured the sandwiches so i figure they enjoyed them as well. oh!! and i got a prize as well!! you get a freshly baked baguette with the purchase of three banh mi’s. ok…ok, the truth is; the chinese in me bought three sandwiches just to get the free baguette. hahaha!to sum it up. saigon sandwiches & bakery is a pretty good spot for banh mi’s. are they the best? i dunno….but they were quite tastey and i will be back for more.
