Taiwanese breakfast. Why must i travel so far for good yo tiao??? :-(PROS:-i love their YO TIAO. its SOFT, DOUGH-Y and STRETCHY. perfect for dipping into the SALTY TOFU which is special on its own because theres a lot of ingredients inside thats different from the typical taiwanese salty tofu. theres even MINCED MEAT and NORI inside. -SALTY TOFU. i didnt like it at first because it was too busy. it had a lot going on but i got hooked after the second time. cant seem to find any other place that makes the same.
Decent Taiwanese breakfast joint.. Yung ho tou jiang is a good ole taiwanese breakfast joint located across the the street from 888 seafood on valley blvd. when i am seriously craving xao bing (sesame bun), yiou tiao (fried cruller) & tou jiang (soybean milk), i jump in my car, wrangle up a few friends and make the 30min trek to the sgv on the 10 freeway.there is no better way to start a sunday morning than a yiou tiao sandwiched in a xao bing and dipped into tou jiang. mmmm!not much has changed here since i first started going there 6+yrs ago. the taiwanese breakfast foods still remind me of the stuff i grew up on, albeit a bit heavier. maybe because i am getting old?? haha.a few other items not to be missed are the beef noodle soup and stinky tofu.service is polite, if not a bit firm (better know what you want to order or the waitress will huff at you). when they are busy, the larger round tables may turn into communal tables.
