I admit I don’t bleed for it and I don’t usually customize my drink like a professional but I do like to partake in it from time to time. Before ordering I already knew that I wanted something from their mustache series. You know what they say… mustaches are natures lip blankets and I can not deny the fact that Hulk Holgan and Tom Selleck rocked one like a boss. You can tell right away if a bubble tea sucks based on how much powder you can taste. Gong Cha definitely does not make that mistake but damn I know I wanted a mustache but you guys gave me a beard. The drink itself was very refreshing and the taste was mild but I definitely wasn’t planning on sucking up foam half of the time. After I was done with my drink one of the staff members was kind enough to inform me not to stab the bubble tea straw through the drink lid and told me that I should drink the tea through the foam first and when the drink level gets low enough then use the straw. Even though it was after the fact that I consumed my entire drink I’m still glad they told me. Next time it probably will make a big difference!You can tell they are taking a different approach from ChaTime and aims for something more subtle. Gong Cha allows customization for sugar/sweetness level and ice. I got the Foam Earl Grey Milk Tea with 30% sugar and less ice. It was perfect for me, but it can still be a little sweet for some as the sweetness was embedded in the milk foam. Don’t forget to ask for a stamp card. Come up on a free drink after purchasing 10.
