  With so many Italian delis scattered around San Jose, why choose La Villa? -Because they have the best sandwiches and ravioli’s.-Because flights to Italy range from $2,000 plus and this is the next best thing.-Because their raviolis (even the lobster ones) and meatballs are house made.-Because they have been in business since 1947 and with so many years on them you know they’re doing something right. -Because of the Chris Combo which is the team sandwich of the 49ers.-Because you can buy their uncooked cheese ravioli at Lunardi’s, Zanotto’s and Hilltop Markets.-Because they cater.-Because their online ordering and delivery is a breeze.-Because their cannoli’s are made fresh daily.-Because their Sfogliatelle is absolutely delicious and Imported from Italy.-Because if you don’t eat here…who cares that means more for me! 😛

  La Villa Gourmet Italian Delicatessen (Italian). La Villa has the great atmosphere of fresh, good Italian food. And the atmosphere doesn’t lie. La Villa, from the deli case, to the hot table, to the rotating dessert center, feels like a market more than a restaurant. They pull this off well, though, because the food they make is not taken as an afterthought. The ravioli is delicious, and the deli sandwiches are maybe the best I’ve had. Also, if you need some Italian cooking products, there is a separate aisle stocked with a refrigerator for drinks, and cases for pasta, olive oil, and other necessary ingredients. Lastly, if you’re a Sharks fan, check out the neat memorabilia on the shelves and in the windows.Rating: 8/10 tasteperiod.blogspot.com
