Machaca (dish review). This dish, with it’s peppers, beef, and cheese, won my heart at first bite. Then again, that was ten years ago, and ever since it has slowly given it back. I truly loved the mixture of bold flavors and textures. Also, the potatoes and beans that came on the side were serious highlights. Over time, the dish has fallen apart, with every its becoming blander and more imperfectly cooked. In fact, the whole restaurant chain has evolved into a tale between the founding (and floundering) Lincoln location and the much more successful Willow Street version.15 Apr, 2012Chorizo Con Huevos (dish review). Ah, Indian food… Oh, wait, this is a Mexican restaurant? Boy, it’s sure hard to tell that after tasting this breakfast entree. It is nothing too complex – just eggs scrambled with chorizo. Unfortunately, they try to make it fancy by adding a dash of cumin. Apparently dash translates to truck-load as the cumin is all you can sense in the dish. Thankfully, it’s price tag allows for a few flaws. Still, I recommend their award-winning machaca instead.26 Feb, 2011Tlaquepaque (Mexican). Tlaquepaque always looks as if it’s closed, with it’s blacked out windows, but don’t be fooled. Though it may look empty, this popular restaurant is always packed. Prices here are fair, but parking can be nearly impossible, with only a dozen of so spots close by. As for food, the chicken tacos can be dry and bland, but otherwise the food is more than adequate, with large, tasty portions.Rating: 7/10 tasteperiod.blogspot.com

My boyfriend and I eat here all the time! It tastes so authentic and I love the simplicity of the little taqueria. Everything I’ve tried here has been delicious, whereas my boyfriend always gets his favorite everytime-carne asada super tacos!
It’s pretty affordable and the food is great! I will def come back to this place. It gets a little crowded @ times though.
Unfriendly staff, dirty dishes and glasses… The food is just adverage. The policy of not seating you until your entire party is there drives me up the wall. I’d call the one a southbay stay away!
