Middle of the Road. Went to Ben’s today for lunch. It’s a counter service sandwich shop. Order, sit down, someone brings your food out like a to go order. It gets pretty crowded at lunch, so it must be a favorite. I’ve eaten a lot of good sammies. Ben’s is just middle of the road. I had the turkey, avacado and cheese sandwich on french bread. The lettuce to meat ratio is large, but the amount of meat is more than enough to make the sandwich acceptable fair. In my opinion the sandwich was just fine though a a bit on the bland side. It wasn’t yak bad. Nor was it yummy good. It is something to fill the hole in your belly. I would go back except I don’t want to eat in the middle of the road.

They cater an amazing Cajun boil. I did it for graduation and my foodie friends are still raving about it!
It’s a SLO thing….. This is a local favorite, only because the locals don’t know any better.
Ben F. would be shocked!. Little meat, lots of shredded lettuce. Oldest trick in the book to make a cheap sandwhich. I guess if your starving and you don’t realize downtown is just around the corner.
