Small- town restaurants never cease to amaze. I have visited some of the most incredible eateries in the United States while visiting small cities and one that easily caught my attention and won me over is Granada Bistro in San Luis Obispo, California.Granada Bistro is located next door to its own boutique hotel- a small place of lodging with only 17 rooms. The restaurant is quite inviting, with a quiet setting and location right next to the road, for quick access and open views. There is some indoor seating and outdoor seating, so regardless of the weather conditions, you can easily find a place to sit and enjoy your food and drink.Granada Bistro serves menu items that are more interesting/unusual compared to other restaurants. Guests might want to start off with an appetizer like the Charcuterie Plate, which includes three meats, olives, and mustard before proceeding to the main course, which could include such offerings as the Cuban Panini, Poached Sockeye Salmon, and Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup. I had a tough time deciding what to buy when I dined here, but finally went for the Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup. This was no ordinary version of the classic combo- it consists of soup made with San Marzano Tomatoes and grilled cheese made with white cheddar on French bread. This brunch was almost too good to be real, with an incredible, natural flavor from both the soup and the sandwich that was unparalleled. The presentation was excellent, too, and I was beyond satisfied when I left.San Luis Obispo, California is a beautiful city with much to offer. The restaurants excel on many levels and I was particularly impressed with Granada Bistro. My food and drink could not have been better and other than the somewhat high prices, I cannot think of anything to criticize about this restaurant, which easily ranks among the very best I have visited in a long time. greatbeernow.com
