Food is OK but service is incredibly chaotic and disorganized. One order came 22 minutes after all the others. STAY AWAY if you have more than 2 in your group.
Great food, good value. While strolling around SLO looking for a place to eat, we stumbled into this place, and upon learning they could accommodate my gluten-free wife, we came in for dinner. We had a classic ragu with house-made pasta, and a mushroom/chicken risotto, both of which were excellent, especially the risotto (and both <$20 each). Highly recommended.
Stopped in at the bakery/coffee bar for a quick bite and had a fantastic slow-scrambled egg bruschetta, outstanding pastry, and delicious vanilla latte. Sat outside on the nice patio. Can’t wait to come back to try more!
Ahi Aha!. Last night I ordered the Blue Fin Tuna Salad as an entre. Not expecting much from an early dinner service I was pleasantly surprised by the attentive staff and how well the Ahi was prepared. Seared in texture married with a cold center far exceeded my expectations. A simple salad enhanced with chucky cuts of beats and spiced up with arugula needed no dressing. Top marks to a kitchen staff that turned out a superb dish that would otherwise be simple to destroy. My only criticism would be to give your hostess some menu training; she couldn’t quickly answer any questions about the menu (e.g., what dish has a nice hearty tomato sause?) Top marks to all the wait staff who accommodated a picky palette.
Great food, good value, nice service. The interior design is a bit too corporate, but we’ll overlook that. We really enjoyed our meal there (salads, brick oven pizza and pasta). Well be back. Tip: get gelato for desert at their take out window and stroll around SLO.
