If you have food allergies, Beware! They ignore requests.. Four guys after playing Pool around the corner were hungry, so stopped in. I was told this place was Orcutt Burger just a few months ago, now it’s Santa Maria Burger and under new ownership. The menu is large and confusing. I saw a Pastrami Burger that sounded good, so asked if I could have the burger medium rare and was rudely told no. She added… the owner does not want anyone to get sick. Since I have certain food allergies I asked what type of sauce they used, and was told Thousand Island. I asked to see a sample to see if it had pickle relish in it and was refused, so I simply told her I was allergic to pickles, and since pickle relish is in Thousand Island I would like the Pastrami Burger with just Mustard. Also ordered the Onion Rings. Food came out and I asked the server if the burger was prepared the way I asked, and she said it should be. Not good answer, so I specifically asked if it had pickles or pickle relish on it. She came back saying it had piclkes on it. Unbelievable. The owner does not want anyone to get sick, but then serves food we tell him we are allergic to. The server was nice enough to apologize and say they would make a new one, but now it was going to be difficult to trust them. I watched to be sure they didn’t simply remove the pickles on that burger, and they didn’t. They made me a new uncontaminated burger. It was good, so were the Onion rings, but the experience really leaves a bad tast in my mouth, I doubt I will return. The 3 others with me felt the same, but had no problems with their orders.
Went to drive thru waited 39 minutes for food! Manager yelled at me! Told me too bad she was busy – and too bad she said they were busy! Totally rude-nobody came to the window they hid! I knocked on drive up window asking about food and she yelled at me? I can get better service at the DMV
Used to be great!. This WAS our favorite breakfast place before the new owner took over. He immediately changed things on the menu and started raising the prices. The prices are still cheap but the quality of food has deteriorated so much that I don’t care how cheap it is, I don’t want to eat there. It’s such a shame too, because the old owners were so nice and it was truly a family atmosphere when you went in there. Not any more.
