Hands down the best Korean fried chicken place I’ve been to! They also serve some amazing soju cocktails to go with those chicken wings. Would recommend to anyone looking for Korean fried chicken joints in the Bay!Chimek has an assortment of fried chicken flavors, but nothing out of the ordinary for a Korean place. The chicken tastes quite good, though I felt the appetizers were too small.However what sets Chimek apart is the quality of the soju cocktails. They serve it in a huge bottle, so don’t assume that 1 cocktail is for one person. It’s hard even for 2 people to finish it! And unlike many other places that serve soju, the % of soju in their cocktails is definitely on the higher side.The waitstaff is not all that friendly, but the owner/manager is extremely friendly & more than makes up for it. You can see him visit all the tables, sharing drinks & telling jokes with the customers. If nothing else, come here for the soju & the manager!
