Great location – pretty central on Santana Row (literally). We were there for brunch. Nice ambiance with the mariachi band playing..What I liked about this experience:Entertainment gave good value, service was good (we got seated right away), location is awesome, there’s a parking lot down the road, the margaritas were great and generous servingWhat I didn’t like:Menu selection was pretty limited, food wasn’t as tasty as I expected (the tortilla wrap was a little dry and so were the black beans). The presentation of the food was underwhelming. The table and chairs were not as clean as I would have expected.I would go back at another time of day and try something different and give the restaurant another chance. Perhaps brunch is not their forte.

One of my friend living in US took me to this place and I fell in love with it. it has an open seating and is surrounded by a lot of trees. This is right in the center of Santana Row area, which is quite lively. The beers are reasonably priced (we ordered a bucket of Lagunitas for 21$, they served 4 beers in that).Even the Mexican food is great here, and the staff was really busy but they served us well. I liked this place so much that I actually went there again on my own. I striked a conversation with a few good people out there, all in all a great experience.Would totally recommend to people living in San Jose and nearby places. For after party (this place shuts at 11 PM on weekdays) you have many options around.

Great place to hang out. Decent crowd. Location is a definite plus point and the food is good, but slightly over priced and the portion size is a little big.Service was pretty good for a Friday night.

Yummy Tacos!. The atmosphere here is great! Outdoor seating and on a gorgeous day like we had, it was perfect! The tacos were something to write home about for sure! I LOVE, LOVE tacos so for me this was a big one! The steak quesadillas were top notch too! Unfortunately we are tequila lovers and the cheapest shot of tequila was $11. We were on vacation so went ahead and tried it and it was pretty good. The pitchers of margaritas are pretty awesome too! Pricey but worth it if you have some extra cash to burn 🙂

What a shame. I really wanted to love this place. Outdoor seating in a park like atmosphere. The seats where designed to be in a park, so eating was a bit uncomfortable. The portions were small, everything was expensive and the service was horrendous.

POOR Service, Great Environment. Ambiance = A+Live band = A+Service = DDrinks = CIf you plan on enjoying El Jardin with a group, it’s best to show early as they do NOT take reservations.Perhaps our waiter was overwhelmed by the numerous drink orders or the bachelorette party at the table next to us… but the word NEGLIGENT comes to mind. Friends in my group had to wait anywhere between 20-45 minutes for their drink orders. Ridiculous. At the end of the night, we asked to speak with the manager, who stood there telling us it was mandatory to leave a tip rather than an apology for terrible service. Last I checked, it is considered good manners to tip according to the quality of service you received. When the ‘quality’ of service is subpar… the gratuity should be a reflection.
