Mediocre Taste and Slow Rude Service. There are so many other Thai restaurants in the vicinity, why eat here? The taste was mediocre, portions were slow, the staff and manager were extremely rude. The staff and manager actually openly argued with members of my dinner party within the restaurant. The portions were super tiny as if they separated one dish into several. We drank alcohol here and the manager actually said she was going to try to get us arrested for DUIs and took pictures of our license plates. Coming here was a mistake. No Thai hospitality here.
The New New Krung Thai. We came to a thai restaurant with a New Krung Thai sign on winchester boulevard (dont be fooled) make sure you come to this one! We tried a bunch of dishes and all of them were fantastic. My favorite was the Panang Curry! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Best Thai in California by far. Since moving away from SJ down to OC, I have been on a hunt for Thai food as good as this place. My wife and I have been to at least 15 or so places between San Diego up to Hollywood. NOTHING even comes close to Krung Thai. I miss everything about the place. What I used to always order: chicken satay skewers (weird it comes with toast), PoTak soup (extra spicy), garlic shrimp and beef (if you love garlic this is a must), basil chicken (sauce is great over your white rice), pad thai, not too dry and not too sweet (be sure to mix in all the chili, sugar, and bean sprouts before you eat). and if there is any room left, we end the night with sticky rice and sweet mangoes, or the sticky rice and ice cream. This is at the top of my list to eat whenever I am back in SJ. If you are smart, make reservations. Only draw back is the small parking lot.
Exceeded expectations – som tum medium spice was fresh and good to share – panamg vegetable had a nice blend of heat and sweet – red curry catfish was tender and balanced flavor – a little loud – service is helpful and pleasant
Very bad, slow service. Small portions. We left ( still hungry) about 1/2 hour – 1 hour after we finished our food, because the waiter wouldn’t come by our table. (people who came in to eat way after us got served first and ate and left way before us.) and why do asain restaurants charge around 2.00 for a can of soda (with no refills) when you can buy a bigger bottle at a vending machine for about 1.50?
Love it. Love it. Love it!. This is one of our favorite places to go. The parking lot might be crowded, but that’s because everyone knows how good the place is! If you like coconut milk soup, you’ll be in heaven. Or at least, uh, a restaurant with really good coconut milk soup. 😀 My wife and I usually split coconut milk soup, masuman curry, and the special basil chicken. There’s enough for left overs, too. This place gets THREE thumbs up.
One of the Best Thai Restaurants. My family and I have been going here forever. They have amazing tofu, pad thai, soups, and appetizers. My family was upset when they took their jackfruit dessert off the menu. All in all, the restaurant is ALWAYS packed, so put your name down and then go around the area to the mall or Santana Row before you come back.
