This location is now called lucys frozen yogurt but is more like ice cream. A few blocks away on the corner of Unuion and Buchanan called Cultivate that is closer to Pinkberry as it gets. So much better than lucys.
On the Bandwagon. I LOVE PINKBERRY. I am so silly feeling for being a part of this craze and I wasn’t that impressed the first time I had pinkberry a few years ago in LA. Why? Because I didn’t get the right toppings. This odd sounding trio of original yogurt with fruity pebbles, kiwi and mochi is my favorite and I want it all the time, thank god I have a good friend in San Jose who I can drop in on!
JUST ANOTHER FAD!. Another overrated food fad that will just come and go like all of the others. in my time i have already seen the rise and fall of yogurt in the 80’s and the same for fondue in the 70’s. we can soon add cupcakes to the long list of things that are cool to eat. some are better than others but it’s mostly people liking what’s popular and in style. and to think people pay such high prices for something that is everywhere is hard to imagine. save your money and support the mom and pop yogurt shops if you must get your frozen yogurt. and what is it with asians and frozen yogurt? i always feel like the only white guy in the yogurt shops. they must like those crazy fads. they did go crazy over that boba thing years ago in their drinks. if your gonna give me any fad bring me the pizza cone back from japan.
Verdict: Walk.don’t run. All the hoopla in LA about this chilly treat had me intrigued. It was good but not earth shattering.
Good…similar to Red Mango. I have had Pinkberry before in NY and it is good. This one, like the others is about the same as Red Mango in the Valley Fair mall across the street. Very yogurty flavour, not like the cheap mixes you might get elsewhere. Overall its decent but overpriced – you pay for the name.
