The Village California in Santana Row is worth the trip, in my view. Not too big so you get a sense of the restaurant. Service is good without being obtrusive. Cool bar set up worth a stop. The food matched the rest – well done, tasteful and upscale. Definitely one of the better finds in the area.

Service is excellent, drinks are great but the Chef stands out screaming at his staff right infront of customers which creates bad vibes. I couldn’t enjoy my meal as he screamed bloody murder at his cooks for whatever reason. Won’t be going back, as they say, happy chef good food, angry chef terrible food.

Sat outside, had a bloody Mary with pepper and cucumber infused Vodka…cobb salad was delicious, and then a blueberry sparkling wine which was awesome. I hear the brunch is awesome. Great table service.

The staff is extremely adept, the food is WONDERFUL and the price is great. We had the sunset dinner. Soup or salad, entree and dessert $25. We added a wine flight $10 for 3 – 2 oz tastings. Everything was quite wonderful and made for a fantastic Valentines Day celebration.

Dinner at the Village. Last night I had dinner for the first time at Village California Bistro. Since it was Sat night, Santana Row was very busy.I had the Flat Iron Filet. When it first arrived, I was a bit scared because it looked more like pot roast. It had carmelized onions on top and a dark wine sauce that appeared to look like gravy. But, I took my first bite and was happy I ordered it. I was cooked perfectly and the the sauce is what really made this. I came with cajun fries, which were their normal fries with some cajun spices seasoning sprinkled on top. Nothing really speacial there. I kept seeing the Mac and Cheese coming out from the kitchen and wished I ordered that. I was please overall, but I find the Village to be much better for brunch……………17 May, 2009Brunch. I have been to this place several times for brunch. Highly recommend it. The burger is pretty good…

We love this place. The barstaff, especially Ryan & Jess make u feel right at home. Table service can be inconsistant, but if u like eating at the bar, service is spot on. The food is consistently good…check out the scallops and the duck confit!

Check out happy hour. I have come here several times for both lunch and dinner. I prefer lunch. The sandwiches are good. The tomato soup is off the hook. They have a fantastic daily happy hour. Basically everything is $6 (apps /drinks) but you have to cram into the mini bar area….
