I don’t much care for that.15 Aug, 2010It’s a cool place to hang out with friends and have a cupbof Joe. The people there have been nothing but nice to me. If you want to chill this is a good place. Bad Vibe, Bad Experience. I went to A’roma Roasters today and had such a horrible experience I felt compelled to get the word out. Their anal-retentive, controlling ‘rules’ are RIDICULOUS. It’s a coffee house, not a five star restaurant, which by the way, I have dined at FREQUENTLY and have highly developed etiquette skills and knowledge of social protocol. Definitely an odd group is running this show. I had my feet resting on the rail of the chair across from me, underneath the table, and one of the Nazi employees came across the room to ask me to take my feet down. WHAT????? Needless to say I told him I hoped he knew he just lost quite a few customers by making his ridiculous request. He of course attempted to defend himself and persuade me to change my mind. I told him to save his breath. A good friend of mine is a highly respected CHP. He used to go in all the time, in uniform, to this coffee house. He stopped going because of the disrespectful glares he used to get from patrons and employees. This man is earns a living saving and protecting lives and he was treated this way in this coffee house.I’m appalled at the arrogance I experienced today. A businesses customers are its livelihood. Not a good business practice to drive customers away, especially in the economy we’re experiencing. Oh, and BTW, this jerk actually told me he didn’t need my business, or my friends’. REALLY?? Whoever is reading this, I would think twice about giving this company your business. They obviously don’t care whether or not they have your business or not. Flying Goat has much better coffee, isn’t uptight, and is right around the corner. To the guy with the big ear piercings today….BIG MISTAKE.
If you need some coffee or a place to hang out, this might be your only chance after, say, 6 pm. The food and drinks are mediocre but the environment is great- unique, artsy and charming. They usually have live music on the weekends- which is awesome, but don’t expect to go on a Saturday night to converse with friends.
