Friendly and attentive staff. Food was good. I had the Cutting Board (meats and cheeses) and the PS Burger. Burger was cooked just right and tasted great with the sriracha ketchup.

Public Schools nostalgiac grade school theme is beyond cute. An A+ for creative gastropub fare, and an A+ for craft and classic coctails and beers. A very relaxed and inviting atmosphere, and conviently by the 405 and Sherman Oaks Galleria.

Nice very nice atmosphere food and prices. Upscale attitude but down to earth atmosphere. Has style and a earthy feel nice place for women to venture alone also.

Very contemporary setting on the inside with a nice bar area. Outstanding draught beers too. All day brunch menu had a vegetarian option as well.

I like walking in and seeing High school letterman jackets hanging near the dining area. World Book encyclopedias, colorful globes and microscopes decorate the shelves, and periodic tables hang on the walls. This gastropub offers a school theme with cocktail napkins made to look like lined notebook paper and menus that resemble a black and white composition book. The restrooms are called the boys and girls locker rooms, and happy hour is known as recess. We first ordered a Mezze plank crocks of baba ghanoush, hummus, tapenade, chunks of marinated feta and crispy chickpeas. It comes with a pile of grilled flat bread. The wine by the glass is higher than other casual restaurants. Beers are a little pricey too.The vegetarian chili is served with a piece of their special corn bread waffle. There are four pizzas made on hand-tossed pizza dough. Some have buffalo mozzarella, others are topped with arugula, fig, prosciutto and house pepperoni with jalapeos for exciting flavors. Looking for something healthy at this spirited gastropub school, I ordered The farro and Brussels salad topped with four pan-seared scallops, and tossed with roasted sweet butternut squash, cranberries and light vinaigrette. Guests craving a burger can sink their teeth into a bison burger. It comes with a choice of brown bag fries, an excellent kale and Brussels slaw or a red quinoa salad. For dessert we enjoyed the lemon meringue pie in a large Mason Jar with pecan graham cracker crust and a thick Nutella chocolate chip cookie sandwich rolled in a sweet bacon crumble. Public School also offers a recreation room with darts, shuffleboard, beer pong and a large Jenga set with wooden pieces. dineandtravel.wordpress.com
