Local Recommended Deli – Hidden in Grocery Store. Speer’s Deli is only known by word of mouth by the locals. The building is a grocery store with a deli in the back. While visiting a winery, we asked our guide for a quick place to pick up something on the run while heading to the next winery. She recommended Speer’s Deli. It’s a tiny little store with only one checkout lane. In back, there is a steady flow of locals stopping by to have sandwiches made. The bread is what makes the difference. They have so many options and they are fresh and flavorful. There is nowhere to eat them inside, so it really is a pick up and go kind of place. We loved our sandwiches, and they were very affordable for the area. I would highly recommend this when you are wanting a picnic lunch or eating on the run.
