Great Experience. Food was very good. Server was attentive and provided great service. Friendly staff. Clean. Reasonable prices. Better than Red Hut, in my opinion.
Very Disappointed!. Used to be my favorite place until last Monday, Sep 2, 2013, when they refused my takeout order because they said they were too busy. Really, how much longer does it take to put an order in a takeout container? I guess they were too busy to care if they lost a 30-year customer. I will take my breakfast business to Red Hut from now on. Their biscuits and gravy are better anyway . . .
Absolutely great breakfast location. We liked the homemade omelet and the French toast. Authentic family-owned diner. Better than iHop and Heidi’s in the area around.
Great food! My daughter LOVED the pancake. Hot chocolate with a mountain of whipped cream also. Frank’s sausage excellent. Fast efficient wait staff.
Family Fun. We felt like family as we were seated at the bar (our preference). I love to watch our food being prepared. It was all done from scratch right in front of us. They were busy, yet the service was spot on. We enjoyed the family which worked there: we saw dad, mom and some of their daughters. They were efficient, friendly and fast. It hit the spot for us on our last day of vacation.I had a simple bacon, egg and English Muffin…. Omelet was done correctly, light and fluffy; bacon was medium thick, crisp (I despise fatty bacon); and the English Muffin was soft and warm. Advanced cooks will tell you that eggs are the most difficult item to prepare. It is a test that most high level restaurants give to their prospective new chef hires: can you prepare an omelet? Bert’s is our go-to breakfast place is South Lake Tahoe.
Food was decent, service was not. Did not feel welcome, felt rushed out the door.
