2017/12/14We like P.F. Changs, so when we travel in the US, we will see if there is one along the way, and today we found one in Sunnyvale. We had to wait a few minutes with a pager, and we were seated about ten minutes after we got there. Not sure if they were understaffed this evening, but the seemed to be quite a few empty tables. We also noted that this location didnt seem to be as elegant as some of the others. Couldnt put our finger on any specific cause; It was just our impression. We started out with some Hot & Sour Soup. This one was a bit spicier than we have had at other P.F. Changs. It was still a good cup of soup. For our first main dish we ordered Mongolian Beef. We were hoping they would prepare it the same way as we had had at another location, where the sweet soy glaze had been caramelized, giving the edges a bit of crispiness. It was a nice enough dish, but not crispy. Now we are wondering if the other location happened to overcook our dish, and that we had eaten a pleasant mistake. Our second dish was Kung Pao Chicken. Lots of red chili peppers in the dish, which we pushed aside. The chicken itself wasnt that spicy. Service was okay. One small complaint was that they seated us next to the patio door. It was on the cool side this evening, no one was out in the patio, yet staff went in and out several times, causing a cold gust to blow in.
