Love this place for its amazing tacos (all three kinds they serve as a part of the coastal trio especially the shrimp and original fish ones). Definitely comes above chipotle for the california bowl (though my husband differs with me on this, for him chipotle comes first). We wanted blackened chicken in the bowl which the server got prepared for us(though it wasn’t a part of the menu) and this was much appreciated.Definitely recommended
In my four weeks of stay in the US this is the third and last different fresh Mexican Grill I tried and I must say this has been the best of the lot! My order of preference would be 1. Rubio’s 2) Qdoba and 3) Chipotle.So just before the night I am supposed to board my flight back home I headed over to Rubio’s along with my friend and his family. We placed an order for three portions of California Bowl and one portion of plain NachosCalifornia Bowl – seemed like a perfectly made combination. The bowl at Rubio’s has a bit more rice by default when compared to Chipotle and slightly sauted veggies, this felt well balanced to my taste. The taste added by Chipotle sauce and guacamole was quite evident. I added a bit of extra diced onions, Tomatillo and Roasted Chipotle sauces that gave a bit tangy and spicy flavour to it. Rating 4.5/5Nachos – plain old nachos, nothing much to write about it here. I enjoyed the Nachos well with Roasted Chipotle sauce rather than the typical Salsa offered in most joints. Rating 4/5.
