St John’s specializes in burgers – in all their simplistic glory. The burgers here aren’t overly complicated – with a million toppings & special cuts of meat. It’s just some really tasty meat in a bun & topped with simple but delicious toppings.I went on a wednesday when they have a 50% off promotion on burgers. I don’t know if it’s because of that, but the place was absolutely packed. There was a queue almost up to the entrance waiting to order burgers.Would definitely recommend for the tasty simple burgers. The decor is very basic, nothing fancy at all.

Was here on a Friday evening.. Tried Beg for Mercy cheese burger with fries and hefeweizen. It was a good combination. They don’t serve you on the table, so the trick is to find a place as quickly as possible. It was very crowded when I was there.

So apparently today May 28, 2015 Americans decided to proclaim it #NationalBurgerDay. I swear people are making up holidays by the day. Today it is #NationalBurgerDay, yesterday #NationalSiliconTitsDay and tomorrow I’m going to proclaim it National go fund Valerie’s bank account day.Since my fake holiday calls for some cow meat what a great way to celebrate by reviewing a legit burger joint. So walking in I don’t know why but I imagined my dining experience a little different then described in some of the reviews. This is not a table service restaurant. You order at the counter and then get a pager. If you come during peak hours good luck finding a table. Once you have succeeded then your journey is almost complete. Pro tip do not come by yourself you need someone to sit at the table so when you go and grab your food nobody can swoop your spot. Also if you want side dishes they are served at a different area of the counter than the entrees. Same applies with the full bar. Yes they have a full bar but you have to order the drinks separately from your food too. Aside from the awkwardness of their setup lets get down to the food. I ordered their Roasted Garlic and bleu cheese burger and it was juicy goodness. So good that it would have Wimpy definitely asking for a handout for a taste of these cow patty’s! The garlic fries were on point too. Captain Obvious would tell me I don’t think I need to get in detail about the garlic fries. Would I come back again Yes! I just need to be more prepared.

Burgers, Beer, and Cheesesteaks. Great food for a sports bar. I really like the cheesesteaks. Since I love spicy, I generally order the beg for mercy cheesesteak. They have added more sauces over the years which are really good also.

Busy but Delicious. This was not the type of dining experience I was expecting after reading a little about this location. This is not a table service restaurant. It seems very popular with the locals and was extremely busy around 1pm when we visited. You order at a counter and get a pager. Once you find a table in the packed house, set someone to hold your spot so once your pager goes off, you can go back up to the counter to get your food. Also, side dishes are served from a different area at the counter then the entrees. There is also a full bar, but you have to order drinks from it separately from your food also. Outside of the very crowded and noisy atmosphere, the food was really good. I had a Kobe #1 burger that was very tasty. The burger itself could have been a little bigger, but the toppings were delicious (minus the Serrano peppers I had to take off because they were just too spicy for me). My companion had the pepper cheese steak. This thing was huge, but she finished every last bite, saying this was one of the best cheese steaks she’s every eaten. Fresh cut fires were good, but nothing special. Lots of sauces available to drip the fires in. If you go in with the right expectations (very loud, very busy, serve yourself) then you will find so really good food at reasonable prices.

Great gathering place to meet up after work! Atmosphere is lively, food is served up fast, and there are plenty of big screens if you want to see how the Giants or Sharks are doing!

Great food at a great price!
