Easily one of my favorite Jewish Delis. While I'm not a huge fan of their matzoh ball soup, their cabbage soup is delicious. They have a good pastrami…

Even though it is loud at Brent’s, due to all the happy people eating potato latkes, turkey on rye and slurping Matzo ball soup, I come here every time I’m in Westlake Village with my family and our 86 year old friend. She can’t hear as well as she used to, but Brent’s is a second home to us, so we talk a little louder. This is not a romantic date restaurant, it’s a traditional Jewish delicatessen. Yes, they offer noodle kugel, gefilte fish, stuffed kishka and farfel, fried kreplach and a variety of knish. They also offer a plate of sour pickles and crisp bagel chips for the asking. I first frequented the Northridge Brent’s Deli in the 90s for years and always got a roast turkey sandwich on fresh and warm double-baked Rye bread. The crust is crunchy and the bread is soft. I always get a side of their not too mayonnaise Cole slaw. It’s delicious with some yellow French’s mustard. The menu is extensive with breakfast served all day. The multitude of sandwiches include wraps, dips, melts, hot and cold, grilled, clubs and combinations, such as a triple decker hot pastrami, rare roast beef & Swiss with Russian dressing. Portions are quite large. They serve thick cut fries, however they also have sweet potato fries, curly fries or skinny fries too. For those watching their waist line, Brent’s has a lite-menu with the nutritional information including calories, fat, carbs and protein. If you have a sweet tooth, they have an old fashion chocolate egg cream, cheesecake, cakes, cookies. pies, shakes, strudel, small and large black-and-white cookies. dineandtravel.wordpress.com
AH yes. Brent’s Deli is safe to eat at once again. No more food scares and what a relief because their sandwiches are just too good to pass up on. Brent’s Deli in the Westlake Village area (near the Hyatt) is the best deli option in the area hands down. Their sandwiches are gigantic and their desserts are sinfully amazing. You will certainly not walk out of their hungry, trust me. If you are hankering for a pastrami sandwich this is the must visit spot. Yes, yes, yes! And be sure to check out their deli case on your way out.Dining Room: LARGE. Even when busy there is usually a booth open for your party.Wait Staff: Friendly and polite.Food: Yum Yum. Again — their pastrami is a must have!Price: $$, your standard deli prices. thejoyousliving.com
I have gone for the last several years 3 times a week. The service has become terrible and the food is very inconsistent. There is alway something wrong with one of our orders. Servers don’t bring toast for breakfast and we have to ask 2-3 times for it. Eggs are prepared wrong, I order steak fries and get regular fries. We tend to wait 15+ minutes to order and then our food is brought at different times. I’ve expressed my concern with management and he seems completely disinterested with a quick sorry while he’s looking around. Our family and friends are finally done with this place.
Brents deli, westlake. I’ve tried to order different things and all of them are 5 stars. My new favorite specials are their meatball sub, stuffed pepper, English toffee and lamb chops. My favorite unique drink is that they serve chocolate egg creams with extra soda water. The service is wonderful and so friendly. Thanks Brent’s for continual quality.
Awesome black pastrami reuben. I’m not a big pastrami fan. I don’t like sauerkraut much either. However, I decided to try the black pastrami reuben anyway since it’s one of their signature dishes. It was amazing. Pastrami, sauerkraut…but delicious nevertheless.
Mr.. I took my family to celebrate my and my wifes 60 years of marriage and also my sons birthday.there was 7 people in the group. the service was terrible and the food wasn’t worth the cost.we sat for at least 20 minutes until we were asked what we wanted to drink.we then sat for another 20 minutes until the waiter came to take the order. we then waited another 25 miutes util the meal began to be served.the waiter that took the order and had a lady bring it to the table.it was because the meals were cold when they were supposed to be hot meals.i would not reccomend this resturant to anyone.the resturant was not busy and there was no reason for this type of service.all i got from the waiter was that he was sorry for not doing what he was supposed to do.the management of this resturant is failing in training and supervising the employees.the bill was about 125.00 and i gave a tip of 30.00.we were very disapointed in this event. don’t patronize any resturant that fails as this one has.the sevice stinks and the food isn’t worth the cost.
Brent’s has an amazing turkey Reuben and carrot cake to die for! It’s a tad pricey, but pretty good food!
