With the sun shining bright and high in the sky, my friend Heather and I met up at Champagne Bakery Cafe in Westlake Village at the Promenade. The Champagne Bakery Cafe is a chain in Southern California offering the charm of European street cafes with both indoor and outdoor seating areas. The real treasure at the Cafe has to be their glorious desserts – many coming in petite sizes that allow one to enjoy a treat without feeling too guilty. :)I chose the petit lemon tart and a tall glass of green tea while Heather went for her favorite, the currant scone, with some freshly squeezed lemonade. We were both happy with our choices. The lemon tart was scrumptious and perfectly tart, fresh and flavorful. Yum, yum. With all the glorious Southern California weather we’ve been having, places like Champagne Bakery Cafe are must visit places where you can get everything from a full meal to a tasty afternoon treat as we did. So grab your girlfriends – or boyfriends – and enjoy some yummies, laughs and glorious sunshine. Oh and do share your favorite places to gab over delicacies. thejoyousliving.com

So, this is a cute little bakery and the menu looks pretty good. The macaroons were delicious. I ordered a salad. Lets just say, I didn’t eat it. It was full of old slimy lettuce. I mean, full of it. No one could have washed that lettuce and served it. For 11 dollars a salad, I expect a little more. When I tried to get my money back for the disgusting dish, the management kept trying to sell me solid so they wouldn’t have to refund me. Everyone I have spoken to who has eaten there says everything is just ok, not really good. Overpriced food for mediocre, so only go if you want pastries or coffee. They serve Lavazza!

Pretty mediocre. Breakfast sandwich had very little flavor, and was tough to eat because the canadian bacon was so thick. Decent potatoes, though. Fast service.

Used to be great, but quality of both food and staff has gone down. Very disappointed last few visits. Almost seems they have been bought out by large corp and now trying to cut corners on quality.

Great place, real French bread, (hard to find), Brie sandwich is awesome, everything I’ve tried is excellent. Lucky to have it in our little town
