Money is the Priority not good service and reasonable pricing. I have been a loyal customer for 20 years mostly very satisfied with great sushi and service. Recently had lunch and had 4 items 1. salad2. Papasan (tuna and albacore role 5 pieces half the size of a rainbow roll3. Uni4. Rainbow rollCharged 43.00 with tip. Used to be 25-30 with tip. Papasan roll went from 6.95 to 12.95. Now a special order. When I questioned the manager she at first refused to make an adjustment then after a heated discussion angrily dropped the price to 9.99. The real issue is management runs this as a money machine and has lost sight of their customers. it’s too bad because it has been a staple. Not worth the price or the managers inability to relate to their customers.
New owners need to rethink this whole thing!!. We’ve been coming to Cho Cho San for over 10 years. They used to have sushi chefs that knew what they were doing and always did it perfect! Now they have what I call sushi assemblers. But what’s worse is that they don’t have the same quality sushi or the ability to even assemble what you order properly!! Anyone else wish these guys could make a passable Red Dragon??? In my opinion, their signature sushi roll… a red dragon is supposed to be bright red tuna over sticky rice that doesn’t fall apart, with tempura asparagus and tempura zucchini inside, with toasted sesame seeds and chili oil, with a sprinkle of fine green onion. They now use some flavorless light pink tuna (???) with loose rice and some soft green veggie in the center… period. No crunch, no flavor, falls apart the second you pick it up… Awful! We also ordered Miso soup, which they forgot to bring, and the older chef at the bar near us coughed 3 times while making our sushi… should have stopped him right then and there…. we are done with this place!!!!!!!!! Edit: They have also removed the revolving sushi track at the bar, which was half the appeal. You could grab a shrimp plate or some wasabi, or some other interesting dish. And I do not want a pre-arranged amount of wasabi given to me!!! Lots of subtle things have changed for the worse… It’s really a shame, we used to love this place, we came here every saturday night 🙁

GREED WILL GET YOU NOTHING. I have been a loyal customer of this restaurant for maybe 15 years plus. My wife and I dine there at least twice a month. When our daughter was growing up, she always wanted to go to the restaurant side with the on table chefs. (like benehannas). Last week we stopped by for dinner at approx. 4:50pm. We saw a sign posted on the building in the parking lot area about early bird specials on hand rolls I think. Something we were not interested in. The host (i’ll call him Mr. Idiot).young shaved headed. The revolving bar had maybe less than ten (10) people sitting there. The host looked at his cell phone (clock) and then told us to wait. He then went inside the eating area and spoke with the sushi chef. We were then told we would have to wait 10 or so minutes. I told him we want to sit NOW, there were many many open seats. He refused, and we deterined he wanted us to wait for the full priced menu. We are, were, and continued to be insulted. What BULL CRAP. We were not there for a free meal and by all means not a cheap meal. Your prices are far from cheap. We have always walked out of there with a bill of at least $50.00. For the quality of the food that was and is just fine with us. BUT, for this fool to determine in his small mind that we might be there for the happy hour is unexceptable. 15 years or more of our business, with family and friends is now down the tubes. We will now be doing our business at Akios is the Jannes Mall. If anyone in the Cho Cho San managment, or Mama san or Papa San would like to respond to this it might renew our faith in your restaurant. If not, your greed has cost you way more than a 50 cent savings on a hand roll. SHAME SHAME ON YOU AND YOUR INEPT STAFF….
Yum. This has become a favorite for me. Overall the quality of the fish is good, sometimes not due to refrigeration. The staff is always friendly, and always get our orders right. Prices are decent, and the menu selection is vast.
