As a burger enthusiast, it really was criminal that it took so long for me to finally make it to a Five Guys, but I finally took the plunge to give it a proper go.Star 1: How was the service and atmosphere? It’s a chain, so there’s no hometown vibe at Five Guys, but they do a great job at bringing back the retro burger stand feel while setting the stage for a clean environment. One thing I did notice was that the walls were very literally plastered with various awards and newspaper articles, even further building up the overwhelming hype that I’d been fed for the past few years. All things considered, a nice place. Star Granted.Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost?As has been mentioned countless times, the fries come in absolute droves regardless of what size you order. However, the burger is what I was here for, and for $6.54, I got an average-sized burger with some nice extras (jalapenos, etc.). Nothing huge, but $7 isn’t absurd these days for a fast casual burger. Star Granted.Stars 3 and 4: How was the food?Maybe it’s In n’ Out, or The Habit, or most certainly The Ranch, but the Agoura / Westlake / TO area has turned me into the stingiest of critics when it comes to burgers. Possibly attributable to the overwhelming hype that came with a Five Guys Burger, I was surprisingly left with a bit to be desired in terms of the taste of the burger. Sure, the patty was there with cheese and some extras, but I couldn’t help but taste the individual components of the burger as opposed to taste that equated to something greater than the sum of its parts. Decent, but not even top 5 in the area. Single Star Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could?Sorry Five Guys, but I can’t say I was by any means blown away by my burger. Sure, the atmosphere is cool, and they’re obviously doing quite a bit right to have received so much attention, but there are much better burgers in the area.No Star Granted.

So disappointing. When I went to Five Guys and saw the huge line I had to wait in, I thought I must be in for a real treat. While eating my burger, I purposely did not say anything to my husband because I wanted to get his opinion. Sure enough, he thought the same as I did. It was terrible. The reason their hamburgers are so bad is because they do not season the meat which makes it tasteless. I even went back a second time and it was the same thing. No taste. I would never go there again and was so disappointed because I was really expecting to get a great hamburger.

Good burgers that are unique in taste. My major issue is peanut oil. Members if my family are allergic and maybe restaurants need to think about this. They use peanut oil in their fryers.

Great burgers and hotdogs. A good choice if you don’t want In-and-Out. I see why it’s a big hit on the east coast.

I don’t understand all the reviews comparing this place to In-N-Out. Their price for a (small) burger is 3x more expensive. Tastes good but Fatburger is much better for the price!

    You can do better!

Good burgers, great fries but In N Out is the unanimous winner in my family. Liked Five Brothers’ variety, but cheese wasn’t melted and bun was doughy. Service was great; long line moved a LOT faster than In N Out ever does. Cajun Fries were a highlight.
