  Foster’s: American for great donuts. I’ve been to dozens of donut shops in Ventura County, and Foster’s is definitely one of the best. They have a lot of selection, although I’ve seen different items on different visits, and this applies to donuts, muffins, and ice cream. The ice cream is a little less, with (unless I’m mistaken) eight pretty interesting flavors of ice cream and two types of fat-free frozen yogurt.I’ve had various types of donuts here. They’re consistent in their ability to deal with fundamentals like the dough for raised donuts and cake donuts. The muffins are interesting, although possibly not what you were expecting. It’s a sort of airy muffin with a flourier and less grainy taste than muffins you’d buy at the grocery store.The staff’s also very nice and very competent. They have fountain drinks for soda, plus several blended espresso drinks and some bottled drinks. There are two reasonably nice, green marble counters that have plenty of seating. It’s also reliable to find parking, but a little tricky maneuvering around other cars in the tight space.
