With The Cheesecake Factory write next door, you get way more food that tastes better for the same price as Lazy Dog. I’ve given this restaurant 3 chances. The ambience is great but the food is overpriced, has small portions, & the taste is average.
Tried lazy dog cafe on a whim because we were at the mall. I’m glad we did, the food and service was excellent. Heading back there today for a late lunch and a beer.
This place was amazing! Fresh food, great prices, big portions! The fries are my obsession – next time I’m in California I will have to make the drive. I had the lunch special; soup and half sandwich with fries and it did not disappoint. Walnut chicken salad on soft wheat with tomato, lettuce and a little thinly sliced red onion knocked my socks off. Our server was phenomenal and so sweet. I believe his name was Zane… or, James? : /
Owner’s of Mimi’s start from scratch. From what I’ve heard, the Simm’s family, previous owners of the Mimi’s Cafe brand, sold their company and started fresh. They pumped a lot of money into 9 restaurants and growing rapidly. Their food is all prepared fresh, not frozen. Their fish is sent in twice a week from Hawaii. Their beer brewery Firestone Walker is a local brewery. And their menu is always changing to fit the tastes of as many people as possible. Their bar is a GREAT place to go and watch the game, IF you can find room! They have at least 7, 42” flatpanel screens going at once and ample seating around the bar for drinks and full dining. The happy hour menu is ALL under $10 and a 14”, pizza sized, Garlic Cheese flatbread is a MUST at $2!!!! (1.95)
Good atmosphere, great food, and a big variety. It’s always crowded but you can call ahead and put your name on the list.
Simply amazing
We Love the lazy dog cafe. It is just great, however be prepared for a wait. Burgers are awesome.
