I love my Mexican food, and this place rocks! Excellent sumptuous flavor. And there’s no shortage of kick your butt spices if you want it. It’s not you’re typical menu style, and not a dizzying array of dishes. Just darn good food.
Excellent salsa and mind-blowing skirt steak. The tacos (carnitas, pastor, and shrimp) were small but tasty. No complaints, but they seemed to lack that funky and ephemeral taco chi energy that really good low-end tacos often have.The huachinango Baja style was quite good. Very crispy and light tempura-style batter, but needed a little oomph from salsa.Speaking of salsa, the house salsa is terrific. Thick, spicy, smoky. One of the best around.But the absolute best was the arrachera (skirt steak). Unbelievably tender, yet still flavorful. Best carne asada I’ve ever had. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to order anything else here.Service was terrific.
