Since leaving my beloved Taco Express in Colorado Springs, I’ve been on a quest to find the best Breakfast Burrito in Southern California, and having recently moved to Agoura Hills, Yelp told me to give P & L Burgers a look.Star 1 – Was the service good?Really no different from a local diner, the service I experienced at P&L wasn’t over the top wonderful, but was pleasant. Nothing felt rushed, but after ordering my burrito came in only about 10 minutes. Star Granted.Star 2 – How were the portions relative to the cost?For $6 I received a good-sized burrito full of fresh eggs, chopped ham and crispy hash browns. Much like the service, while it wasn’t over the top impressive, it was roughly the size of a Chipotle burrito, which I’ll take any day for $6. Star Granted.Stars 3/4 – Did the food taste good?Breakfast Burritos are about as straight-forward as they come, and while that makes them difficult to botch, you really need to bring your A-Game if you’re going to dish up a good one. Unfortunately, while my Breakfast Burrito was large, relatively cheap, and appeared to be freshly made, none of the flavors really popped out at me, and the provided salsa was quite bland. While I appreciated that it wasn’t sopping in grease or fatty sausage, it wasn’t the best breakfast burrito I’ve had in the area. Single Star Granted.Star 5 – Would you eat it every day if you could?While I really am quite impressed with the breadth of P&L’s menu, as is the case with most places with lengthy menus, everything is just okay as opposed to a few menu items that are absolutely great. No Star Granted.

Awesome gyros, burgers, fried zuchini, and chicken fingers! P&L is an old local favorite of mine. A hidden gem!
