The pastrami sandwich I ordered had plenty of meat on it. But that was all it had: meat, and bread. And both of those were dryer than they should have been, and the sandwich was much more expensive than it should have been. On the plus side, the service was very good. And I took a pastry to go, because I wanted a little something sweet, y’know? When I got to my hotel I discovered it was absolutely gigantic — enough for 4 little somethings. And there I was with no knife and fork….THE CURMUDGEONS RATINGS (explained, sort of, on the Curmudgeon-About-Town blog):FOOD: 2 1/2 chili peppers (out of 5)SERVICE: 4 chili peppersAMBIENCE: 2 1/2 chili peppersVALUE: 2 1/2 chili peppers
Ridiculously overpriced!!!!. We went to lunch at Pickles today. Between the two of us, we ordered a Tuna melt, a bowl of chicken soup, a bagel and two drinks….the check came and we were aghast! $29 for a sandwich, soup and drinks. The food did NOT justify the price, it was average at best. Would be not even writing this if it were $20. Great service though.Would not recommend to anyone!
Great Breakfast meeting place. Have enjoyed many a breakfast at this local deli. They are especially good for meetings as they have an excellent breakfast menu and even have a small banquet room that will seat about 10 or 15 people. Service is superb, meals have all been served hot – even the toast. They do an excellent job in keep the coffee cup full and we have never felt rushed to move along, even when the meetings went long.
Awsome. OK, not sure why the negative review, but this place is hands down the best deli in thousand oaks. Closest thing I have had to a NYC deli! You need to dislocate your jaw to eat the triple deckers! Soups are great as well.
Great breakfast. Haven’t tried lunch. Peasant omelette was ver good. Service was friendly and fast.
God aweful deli meats. Fatty corned beef, over cooked roast beef and roast turkey just terrible. Drive the extra fewimutes to Westlake Village.
