A worthy chain in Newbury Park, California. We were given coupons for Rubio’s Fresh Mexican Grill. I went to their web-site and liked what I saw. We had nothing to lose so off we went. Lulu was very good at guiding us through our many choices. I had the Surf and Turf with lemon rice and black beans. I helped myself to a tomatillo salsa and chopped onion and cilantro. Barc was very happy with his Fish Burrito. Reading the history of Ralph Rubio and his fun trips to Baja California, I recalled our drive down the Baja peninsula many years ago. I also remember vividly my first ever Fish Taco in Loreto and my constant quest for its equal. Tuesday after 2:30 the original fish taco is on special. We will be there! I was impressed with how very clean the restaurant is. I enjoyed reading the historical timeline on the wall. I am a fan of Rubio’s in Newbury Park.12.16.2014 fish taco Tuesday. The fish tacos are each $1.50 after 2:30 on Tuesday. We each had two and loved every bite. I also had the unsweetened mango ice tea and look forward to enjoying it again.
