The food is pretty good, but what ruins this restaurant for me is the manager/owner. I witnessed him demeaning his staff. A pleasant server tried to help me with a takeout order because no one was at the desk. He came to the desk, said something to her in Chinese, then pushed her out from behind the counter — in front of me and as she was taking my order. I thought it was very disrespectful towards her. Then, as I stood there, he took 2 phone calls, ignoring me completely, which was disrespectful towards me. As he was mid phone call I told him to cancel the order and give me back my debit card. I then remarked on his behavior and left. I won’t go there again. I stopped going there once before after a similar experience. To top it off, my next stop was Trader Joes. When I double checked my debit card that wouldn’t go through I realized it was not my debit card. They gave me back my card and someone elses. I do recommend Hunan Yuan and Red Wok. Both are in Newbury Park. Red Wok is a 4 for food, 3 for people. Hunan Yuan is 5 for both.
