Verdict: Among fierce competition from Yozen Frogurt, Menchie’s and Golden Spoon in the Agoura / Oak Park / Westlake / Oaks area, Yogurtland stands alone as the best FroYo option. There’s absolutely no reason you shouldn’t be here.It seems as though in the last few years a plethora of Frozen Yogurt shops have cropped up in the Agoura / Westlake / Oaks area, and to avoid having to go thru the rigamarole of deciding which one to go to on a given night, I instead decided to set aside two days to try them all. Yes, yes, I know, it’s a painful job, but someone needs to do it. Additionally, I decided to deviate from my standard five-star system and bring in a whole new set of categories for the frozen yogurt shops in the area:Star 1 – How was the atmosphere? While arguably the smallest of the FroYo shops in the area, the atmosphere at Yogurtland is no doubt comfortable and the service friendly. With both indoor and outdoor seating options in a location where you can easily grab a good bite before stopping by for dessert, Yogurtland is a great place for a quick stop. Star Granted.Star 2 – How were the prices? At only $0.33 per oz., Yogurtland dishes up the best prices in the area by a margin of nearly a nickel, which can add up if you’re going big! Here’s how the competition matches up:Wild Cherry: $0.36Yozen Frogurt: $0.38Lotus Yogurt Bar: $0.39Menchie’s: $0.41Golden Spoon: $0.41Especially given the high quality of Yogurt, Yogurtland is your best bet in the value department hands down. Star Granted.Stars 3/4 – How was the Yogurt and Topping Selection? With 16 flavors available, Yogurtland is only matched by Yozen Frogurt in terms of the number of available flavors (compared to 12 at Menchie’s and 11 at Golden Spoon). Additionally, with a brilliant balance of classic flavors and appealing seasonal specialties such as Oatmeal Cookie, PB&J, Pumpkin Pie and Pecans & Pralines, Yogurtland really does take the cake in the selection department. Additionally, with 31 Candy/Cookie toppings, 8 Fruit toppings and 3 Sauces, Yogurtland is right on part with the competition when it comes to dressing up your dish. Dual Stars Granted.Star 5 – How was the Yogurt? Now this is Frozen Yogurt! Especially when compared to Yozen Frogurt and Menchie’s, Yogurtland’s yogurt is absolutely bursting with flavor. While Pecans & Pralines stood out to me as the winner, all of their seasonal flavors were delicious, and there staples pack an equal punch. No watered down or short-lived flavors here. Close your eyes, and you’d swear you were eating Oreos, Peanut Butter, etc. etc. Brilliant. Star Granted.
