Ambiance – 4Seating – 4.5Food – 4Apollonio impressed me with its spacious seating area, fast service, friendly servers and reasonably good food at a fair price. Anyone who likes Mediterranean food should try this joint. I took the power lunch combo. The chicken combo and I was pretty impressed with the quality and the quantity of food. Chicken was cooked and roasted to perfection. Greek salad was nice and the rice and dip was good.
Very good tasting and unique food. They have a sister place in Pacific Beach called cafe athena and they seem to share the same menu. This location is quite a bit bigger and in my opinion more nicely decorated. The brushetta was really good. They use feta cheese instead of parmesean and they stick it in the oven until the tips are brown. Yummm. We had the falafal sandwich and chicken skewer entrees. All were very good and filling. Vegetarian friendly and good for a nice quiet dinner with a significant other.
Ate once and the food was very tasty, with good ingredients. Had the spanakopita, moussaka and tzatziki all excellent and for dessert the galaktompoureko also very good!
Superb. I ate here twice in my recent visit to La Jolla. I could have made it more often. High quality ingredients, preparation, delicious. Authentic, too. Beautiful restaurant and great service. No flaws anywhere!!!
Poor Service. Took over an hour to get luncy23 Sep, 2010Worst service ever. It took 30 minutes today to even take my order… they were short staffed by just one. The management did not offer any resolution. He had his staff working each area, so in my area there were two servers that also had to walk accross and serve the patio,,, so inefficient.I have never had such bad service and no management support.
Wonderful food. Monique was very helpful selecting our wine. Prices were inexpensive considering the quality of service and food.
So So Service. I love the food here, it used to be Aesop’s tables before they changed their name to Apollonia, the food is great and the new ambiance is nice as well, but with a bigger resturant the service has tended to be soso.
