Watch out for the forced 20% gratuity.It was my wife, 22 month son, and I that ordered two dishes for dinner. My son made a bit mess around his high chair and I was planning to give 20% tip, but they already charged my card with the 20% gratuity. They never said anything to me or explained why. They just gave back my card with a bill including 20% gratuity, which included for 2 adults and a child. Should not be forced into this. :-/
I’ve been here several times and over the course of two years the quality of food and desert has declined. Though, Star Anise is still a good, not great, place to eat.
