Bud’s serves a fantastic, solid, delicious, old-fashioned burger. I’m not sure, but I’m guessing they smash the patties, as they come off the grill with a delicious deep brown crust (but aren’t dry at all). Bud’s gets extra points for not skimping on the onions (which come standard on every burger); I’ve never understood onion parsimony, and thankfully neither does Bud’s, apparently.The fries are fresh-cut and unsalted (there’s plenty of salt on hand to suit any taste). They can run a bit chewy and limp, probably owing to the fact the large stockpile of cut fries await their turn in the oil sitting in baskets next to the fryer (at least during the lunch rush), but they’re still good.
Bus’s Burger is the best burger joint in Vallejo. Even though a new Habit Burger grill was opened a few miles away, I would still choose Bud’s over anything. I always get a cup of fries and a hamburger (no cheese) and I’m always satisfied! Their meat is cook well and is very juicy, unless you ask them! Employees are very friendly and don’t forget to leave them tip!
