Wow, wow, wow. Tucked away in a desolate corner of an abandoned strip mall in the middle of Vallejos, California is one of the best down and dirty Mexican restaurants you will find on this side of Donald Trump’s proposed wall. The portions were huge, the prices low: the street tacos ($2.95 each for the deluxe with sour cream and guacamole) were each loaded with about a quarter pound of meat cooked to perfection; I had the shrimp, carnitas and chorizo, all of which were amazing. Super friendly staff (if a little too busy to be overly-attentive). If you find yourself in or near Vallejos, eat here.
