I’ve recently returned from a trip to LA with 24 New Zealand teenagers. Most of the kids had never been to LA before, so were taking their cues from me re: where we should be eating. This place, however, was a recommendation from one of my students, who’d apparently been following Papillion on Instagram for a year of so. At her insistence a bunch of us worked out how to get there by bus from our hotel. Definitely a good call … the ponchiks (basically a giant filled beignet) were absolutely incredible. Will definitely factor another trip here when I come back to LA with more teenagers in 2018.
