While the space was cute, the food did not blow me away. It’s forgettable. The reason for the one star, and the reason I will not be coming back, nor would I recommend this restaurant to any of my friends is the service/treatment by management.I’ve been to Firefly on two occasions: once for dinner, once for brunch. On the day I was there for brunch, I couldn’t find parking so I used the valet. A few days after dining at the restaurant I received a parking ticket in the mail for the time and date that I was in the restaurant. In other words, the valet parked my car in a red zone. Not sure why the ticket wasn’t on the windshield, but it wasn’t. I contacted the restaurant, and instead of taking responsibility, they gave me a number and name of the person who runs the valet, who *shocker* wouldn’t answer the phone.I tried contesting the ticket, which was $93, to no avail. My point is not that $93 is necessarily a lot of money, but please be advised that the valet is parking cars in red zones, and you may be ticketed. According to the City of Los Angeles, the owner of the car is still responsible for the ticket. Any other restaurant that is this expensive (for dinner I was with 2 other people and the bill was close to $400; for brunch we were a party of 2 and the bill was close to $100) would have 1. let me speak to a manager (after 3 or 4 calls to restaurant I could only get a woman named Joan on the line and she said she is not a manager) and 2. just given me the cost of the ticket or a voucher for the restaurant at a later date. It’s not worth it to go all the way to the valley for mediocre food and watered down drinks, and on top of that get a $93 ticket. Definitely warning all my friends/colleagues not to bother.
Great ambiance, great service, great food! It’s hard to find (without a sign out front) and being from out of town, but well worth the search!
Studio City Hotspot. One of the best places in town for ambiance and a lovely meal. Voted a reader favorite hot spot here: http://www.restaurantsinstudiocity.com/
Great ambiance… Very romantic. Great outdoor seating (fireplace, candles, exposed beam ceiling)
Great ambiance!. I love the overall look and feel of this place. I just went for drinks, so I can’t comment on their food, but it’s definitely a great place to chat over a cocktail or two. Very casual with an underlying tone of sophistication. I will definitely be returning sometime soon.
What A Surprise!. You’d never guess from the completely vine covered front that such a spacious well appointed restaurant is inside!Vaultet ceiling, all skylight! Huge center, four sided fireplace! Excellent food and service!Large lounge area walled on 2 sides with bookshelves.Charming ambiance.
Quality food. Quality people (but a little older crowd, 30+). Smaller portions and delicious.
