Intelligentsia coffee is always delightful. No nonfat milk sadly, but that’s true in all of their outlets. The ambiance is awesome, but lines are the norm. Outdoor seating is nice, but can communal since its tight quarters. lucismorsels.com
Forget the rest and have the best. Intelligentsia is still in my opinion the best coffee shop in LA. A seriously knowledgeable staff serve a variety of different coffee in different forms all in a very comfortable, warm and welcoming space. Good coffee but over the top pretentious. I like a good coffee, a lot. Whenever I travel to a new city the first thing I do is research the best local espresso, so I was excited to find an Intelligentsia in Venice. However, this location turned out to be a big disappointment. My cappuccino did live up to expectations, but I found that the pretentiousness of the barristas was to the point of offensive.
Long wait in line is annoying. Not as bad as a few months ago, but still annoying when only one station open but there are plenty of employees standing around.I spoke to manager, and he was full of excuses. One reflected badly on him (high employee turnover) and another appeared to be untrue.Good coffee, poor management.
Didn’t like the ambience…ppl seemed so uptight. Didn’t like the service either. BTW I am used to and prefer the Starbucks culture

Wow, this lives up to our high Aussie expectations, good macchiato an espresso plus friendly staff. We will be back!
